The value of patent portfolios is often shrouded in mystery, due to the lack of transparency associated with reporting on IP transactions. Recent changes in IP policy, Supreme Court decisions and technology developments in the US and foreign markets, have altered the business models and monetization strategies associated with IP assets, particularly patents. Our panel of IP valuation experts, investors, and corporate IP holders will provide valuable insights to understanding the value of a patent portfolio from the viewpoint of a variety of stakeholders.
The panel will present a rounded view of the factors affecting the valuation of IP assets in today’s marketplace, including data from Foresight’s Unicorn valuation study, and data from ROL Group’s 2016 patent transactions study. Whether you are managing an in-house patent portfolio, are engaged in M&A deals involving IP assets, or are a startup looking to secure funding, this discussion will highlight the most common approaches and the key factors impacting IP valuations, to help you optimize the value of your IP portfolio.
Speakers:Efrat Kasznik, President, Foresight Valuation Group Kent Richardson, Partner, ROL Group Bill Robinson, Lookout Moderator: Gene Quinn, IP Watchdog
