Please join our panel of former in-house counsel and licensing executives to discuss how a commercial approach to patent prosecution can help maximize global licensing revenue, in industries from medical devices, to biopharma, to telecommunications. Jason Novak, Tom Anderton, Freddy Thiel along with moderator Ivan Chaperot will present their extensive in-house insights as we bring together a panel who have long term in-house experience in different industries.

Discussion will include:

  • How the different laws of different countries are taken into account when building a patent portfolio - from harvesting to foreign filing, including an update of the upcoming UPC
  • How soon the licensing team should cooperate with the prosecution team to optimize revenues. The discussion will cover specific examples on how the different teams are organized in different industries

Panelists:
Jason Novak, Partner, K&L Gates, is a former Director IP Counsel at Thermofisher, and will focus on bio instrumentation and software.
Tom Anderton, Attorney, Squire Patton Boggs, is former in-house Counsel at Zonare Medical Systems and VP-IP affairs at Presidio Pharmaceutical, and will give the perspective from the medical devices and pharma sector.
Freddy Thiel, European Patent Attorney, Kilburn & Strode, and now the VP of their new Liaison Office in San Francisco, and former in-house Counsel at Orange, who will discuss the telecommunication and software sector perspective.
Ivan Chaperot, with his extensive background in li
censing at Intel, IV and Nagra, will be moderating.
