Ian is the author of West's 5-volume treatise E-Commerce & Internet Law 2d (West, www.IanBallon.net), and a litigator at Greenberg Traurig, LLP in East Palo Alto and co-chair of GT’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group (https://www.gtlaw.com/en/professionals/b/ballon-ian-c). Ian will provide insights into a variety of Internet Law topics based on the latest updates to his treatise and the trends he sees in his litigation practice. Topics will include:

• First Amendment limitations on the assertion of trademark claims - latest 9th circuit law 
• Secondary patent, copyright and trademark law applied to Internet intermediaries 
• The interplay between IP laws and CDA immunity for interactive computer service providers and users
