PROGRAM:Why is it important to discuss elimination of bias in the legal profession? Learn where our profession is with regard to a spectrum of diverse groups. Why has the legal profession changed slowly? Can diversity impact effectiveness, productivity and profitability in the legal field? Learn to identify implicit bias and to understand how biased views affect the behavior of all participants in the legal process. We will explore how to alleviate bias by challenging our own views. And acquire credit for the Elimination of Bias CLE.
PRESENTER:Michelle Galloway, Of Counsel at Cooley, makes her encore appearance to present her elimination of bias presentation for IP lawyers. Ms. Galloway's technology litigation practice focuses on patent litigation and strategic counseling. Ms. Galloway also advises clients on legal, strategic and technical issues of information management, including electronically stored information, in compliance with a variety of litigation, regulatory and jurisdictional areas. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Georgetown University Law Center's Advanced E-Discovery Institute and is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production. Ms. Galloway also advises clients in the area of risk management, compliance, and ethics. She serves as Chair of the ABA Intellectual Property Section, Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee and Chairs the ABA Task Force regarding USPTO proposed disciplinary rule changes. She is a lecturer teaching courses in patent litigation and 21st century lawyering skills at Stanford Law School and a lecturer at Santa Clara Law School teaching courses in patent litigation, pre-trial litigation techniques, and law practice management.
